So, this blog was dead for a while ': now I think, given the delicate moment in which we live, I'll use a lot for comment, but also briefly quite frequently, the Italian political situation and the world, with particular attention to the primaries that are going on now in USA.
I'm just some background:
Limited to USA, as clearly displaying the banner at the side of the blog, I was a supporter of Giuliani, because I still think that there is nothing better than having a leader who is liberal in terms of rights individual right as security concerns and a strong supporter of free markets.
Unfortunately we all know how it went and that Rudy is retired.
Now, ideally between the remaining candidates, the closest to my positions is Ron Paul, but since I've always been a realist, I know that in order to prevent the victory of the bigot Huckabee praised all those who are liberal area / libertarian should support McCain, or at most (and I feel a slight shudder to say) Obama.
In general, however, the positive note is that if I Amerca and had to choose between Obama and McCain, who obviously know well to give my preference, but I would do to quiet the mind, because I can very well that even if my favorite did not win, however the one who rises to political power would be a serious and worthy of respect.
same can not be said for Italy.
We have two sides that do not understand a shit, each of which you can find everything and the opposite of everything and although it has appreciated the efforts of pious Berlusca Veltroni and simplify the policy framework, requiring two lines, cosiddire, Orthodox, which should cut out the extremists, the situation remains confused.
Because, as always happens in Italy, whoever wins will have a massive Catholic presence, and then we can cheerfully forget delel liberal openings to individual rights and scientific research. And, parimenti, in entrambi gli schieramenti abbiamo degli interventisti dal punto di vista economico, specialmente se Berlusca opterà per reclutare quei residuati scampoli di fascismo inutili che sono la Destra di Sto(a)race e la lista non-ricordo-come-cazzo-si-chiama-ma-tanto-chemmefrega-perchè-sempre-pena-fa della nientepopodimenochè Alessandra Mussolini!
Allora, la modernizzaizone di questa politica stagnante non si fa così: si tagliano DAVVERO fuori tutti gli estremisti - etici o economici che siano - si fanno un partito sociademocratico da un lato ed uno liberal-conservatore (autentico!!) dall'altro e si mette alla guida di essi gente nuova, giovane e che abbia i numeri e la forma mentis, per portare avanti le riforme necessarie al rilancio dell'economia, all'innovazione, alla ricerca ed ad un maggiore benessere INDIVIDUALE.
Questioni sulle quali, rebus sic stantibus, permango ahimè molto scettico.
